The 10th-ranked Cardinal volleyball team went 3-2 on a season-opening trip to Florida.
The Cardinals scored 3-0 wins against Polk St., Daytona St. and Hillsborough and dropped like decisions to Eastern Florida St. and No. 1 Florida SouthWestern.
Two Cardinals – Bianca Salvador and Anastasiia Nedilko were named all-tournament at the annual Battle at the Beach Tournament the last four matches of the trip.
The Cardinals are scheduled to return to action Friday and Saturday in the Kruse Classic at Blinn College. They play Collin and New Mexico at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, Friday and Midland at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by Western Texas at 3 p.m.
The Cardinals' home opener is scheduled Friday, Sept. 5 against Cisco at 2 p.m.
