Robson Costa began his first season as assistant coach of the Cardinal volleyball program in February of 2025.
He brings with him 20 years of experience coaching and training volleyball players at the local, national and professional level in the United States and internationally.
He has coached women’s and men’s indoor and beach volleyball teams, including national teams in his native country of Brazil and in Israel, helping them pick up numerous awards and accolades along the way, including championships and gold medals in highly competitive events.
He also has coached with new Cardinal volleyball coach Paty Figueiredo at Missouri State-West Plains, Montana State University Northern in Havre and at Montverde Academy in Florida. Their Montverde Academy teams earned district and league championships.
Robson has overseen strength and conditioning programs and created periodization programs for nearly every team he has worked with, including the Cardinals, in an effort to help the players develop into the best versions of themselves, on and off the court.
He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the UniverCidade, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2004.
