Myyah West has joined the women's basketball staff at Trinity Valley Community College as an assistant coach.

The University of Houston graduate comes to the program from her alma mater after serving in several positions, including Director of Basketball Operations/Assistant coach from 2022-25. The native of Prentiss, Mississippi, also had stints as Director of Player Development and graduate assistant.

As a graduate assistant coach in the 2022 season, West helped Houston make the WNIT for a fourth time in five seasons. She assisted in post player instruction.

West is no stranger to the junior college level. She attended Jones County Community College, where she started 27 games while appearing in 32 her sophomore season. As a freshman, she had appeared in 26 games, starting 17.

"Coach West brings a dynamic presence and wealth of experience to the program, having competed at the junior college and NCAA D1 levels," said Lady Cardinal head coach Precious Ivy. "I am thrilled to have her join us at The Valley.

"Her background and energy will bring a fresh perspective to our team, and I am confident she'll be a strong influence in helping our athletes reach their full potential."

West played two seasons (2018 and 2019) for Houston, playing in 47 games, and making 36 starts.
