Sophomore Monica Marsh unloaded on Angelina College in Region XIV Conference action Saturday at Cardinal Gym, scoring 31 points to lead the Lady Cardinals to a 91-45 win.

Marsh, who hit six three-pointers, did more than score. The Plano East High School product also had seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The win upped the Lady Cardinals to 21-4 on the year and 9-2 in conference. The Cardinals are back in outright first place in the conference. Tyler beat Blinn in Brenham, 72-62.

The Lady Cardinals have a big week ahead on the road. Wednesday, they play at Tyler in a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. Saturday, they go to Carthage to play Panola. Game time is 4 p.m.

The regular season ends Wednesday, March 5 when the Lady Cardinals host Paris in a 5:30 p.m. start.

The Lady Cardinals were in command from the start Saturday. They jumped out to a 14-6 lead and built it to 42-14 by halftime. The Lady Cardinals carried a63-33 lead into the final period.

Also scoring in double figures for the Lady Cardinals were Kynnedi Davis with 17, Mya Giles 14 and Sanai Tyler 10. Davis had five three-pointers and Giles four.

All 10 Lady Cardinals playing in the game scored.

Angelina dropped to 10-14 and 3-8 records.

The Lady Cardinals were a 71-59 winner against Angelina in Lufkin.
