The Cardinals are in!
For a third straight year and fourth time overall, the Cardinals are headed to the NJCAA Division 1 National Volleyball Tournament. They received an at-large berth today for the 16-team event, scheduled Nov. 20-23 at Austin Peay University in Clarksville, TN.
The Cardinals, who finished fourth at the tournament last year, will carry a 23-14 record into the tournament as the No. 12 seed.
Sixth-year head coach Aleah Hayes' squad is scheduled to play fifth-seeded Northeastern (31-5) in the opening round next Wednesday at 7 p.m..
"We are very excited for our kids to get this opportunity," said athletic director Eddie Kite. "Though we came up a little short of being an automatic qualifier, it is nice to us rewarded for having played one of the toughest schedules in the nation."
