Don't look now, but the ninth-ranked Cardinal volleyball team appears to be hitting stride.

The Cardinals were in Tyler Tuesday night and took care of Tyler Junior College in convincing fashion. They won, 25-16, 25-23, 25-13.

With a third straight win, Coach Aleah Hayes' squad upped its season record to 14-6, The Cardinals are 4-0 in Region XIV Conference. Struggling Tyler dropped to 3-13 and 1-3.

The Cardinals have the rest of the week off. They return to action next week against No. 15 Navarro and No. 12 Blinn. Tuesday, Sept. 24, they travel to Corsicana for a 6 p.m. start against Navarro. The Cardinals are scheduled to take on Blinn at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Cardinal Gym.

Blinn was a 3-2 winner (19-25, 29-27, 25-16, 21-25, 15-11) against Navarro in Corsicana Tuesday night.

Sara Gamboa had a big-time performance against Tyler. She had 16 points, 15 kills and 11 digs.

Other standout performers were Emma Bednarek (12 points), Genesis Rodriguez (15 digs, 10 points) and Zoe Gun (11 digs).
