Juan Yepes joined the Trinity Valley Community College Women’s Soccer Staff in the spring of 2026 as an assistant coach, with specific responsibilities for the goalkeepers. Coach Yepes, brings a wealth of international experience, positional expertise, and a strong player development background to the Cardinal’s program.

Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Yepes has built his coaching career across multiple environments in both the United States and Europe, including professional and NCAA Division I settings. His experience includes time with Carmen Bucuresti in Romania and the 7v7 TST Million Dollar Tournament, where he worked with Nani FC and trained goalkeepers of the caliber of Beto Pimparel and José Lemos, contributing to high-performance environments at an elite level.

At the collegiate level, Yepes served as Interim Head Coach at McNeese State University (NCAA Division I), while also leading the program’s goalkeepers and defensive structure. His work as goalkeeper coach and defensive block coach played a key role in helping the program reach its first conference final in more than 15 years.

Yepes also worked as Goalkeeper Coach at Northwestern State University in Louisiana (NCAA Division I). At both McNeese and Northwestern State, his goalkeepers earned recognition as among the top performers in their respective conferences, highlighting his impact in elite player development.

A specialist in goalkeeper development, Yepes holds advanced certifications including a UEFA B License (Germany) and multiple Goalkeeping Licenses (Levels 1, 2, and 3). He has also completed advanced education through Coaches Voice School, reinforcing his methodology-driven approach to training and individual player growth.

Throughout his career, Yepes has emphasized the importance of position-specific development and game understanding. He has implemented structured training programs focused on technical execution, decision-making, and tactical awareness, helping players maximize their potential and prepare for the next level.

In addition to his on-field coaching, Yepes has contributed to the design of comprehensive development pathways, including position-specific curriculum and individualized training models.

At TVCC, he plays a key role in daily training sessions, match preparation, and recruiting, while leading the development of the program’s goalkeepers and supporting the overall competitive growth of the team.

Yepes is married to Carmen and has a daughter, Manuela, from his first marriage.
