The "Sisters of Smash" were at it again Sunday afternoon.
The sixth-ranked Cardinal team showed no mercy in a convincing doubleheader sweep of Northeast Texas Community College, rolling to 18-0 and 17-0 wins in Region XIV Conference action at Mount Pleasant High School.
In combining for 35 runs in the pair of games, Coach Maria Winn-Ratliff's squad assaulted the Lady Eagles for 23 hits, 11 of which were of the extra-base variety, The Cardinals also did not commit an error in either of the two games.
The Cardinals have now won 25 games via the run rule and posted 13 shutouts. They have won five straight and 18 of their last 19 games.
Next up for the Cardinals is a non-conference twinbill Wednesday at Alvin. Saturday, they play at Navarro. Their next home game is Sunday against No. 4 McLennan. Action at Rip Drumgoole Field at Cain Park is set to start at 2 p.m.

The Cardinals scored seven runs in the first inning and added 11 more in the second.
Kiara Wiedenhaupt led the extra-base attack with a home run. Addison Wittram, Jaeden Burnham, Abby Hollingsworth and Allie Jones each had a double.
Wiedenhaupt and Hollingsworth each had four RBI and Mariah DeBose and Wittram each scored three runs.
Mirana Pena, who pitched the final three innings in relief, picked up the circle win.
GAME 2
Cardinals 17, NE Texas 0

The Cardinals scored in every inning and had 11 players get at least one hit in the second game.
Sydney Murphy, DeBose and Wiedenhaupt crushed home runs to account for half of the Cardinals' six extra-base hits. Burnham had a triple and Alizah Fields and Jones each had a double.
Fields went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in four runs.
Dominique Vargas was the winning pitcher.
