BOUNCE BACK: No. 7 Cardinals down Navarro, 75-66

The seventh-ranked Cardinals were back in the win column Wednesday night, scoring a 75-66 win on the road against Navarro.

The win, which followed a rare home loss to Blinn in their last outing, raised the Cardinals' season record to 14-2. They are 7-1 in Region XIV Conference and back in sole ownership of the top spot. Kilgore, which had been tied with the Cardinals at the top of the standings, suffered a 76-74 loss to Tyler. Navarro fell to 8-8 and 2-6.

Next up for the Cardinals is another road trip against Lamar State-PA (9-7, 3-5). Game time Saturday is 2 p.m. The Cardinals are scheduled to be at home Monday against Paris. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

M.J. Wardlow fired in 20 points, including three three-pointers, to lead the Cardinals. He was 5-of-6 from the free throw line, where the Cardinals were 11-of-15 as a team. He also had five assists, as did Armani Henderson.

Zati Loubaki and Braylon Wenger also scored in double digits with 14 and 10, respectively.

Derelle Desire and Loubaki had 10 rebounds each.

The Cardinals led 39-28 at the half.
