BOUNCE BACK: No. 4 Cardinals thump Paris, 68-47

BOUNCE BACK: No. 4 Cardinals thump Paris, 68-47

If there were any questions if the fourth-ranked Cardinals would have problems bouncing back from their second loss of the season, the short answer is "no."

Jumping out to a 10-2 lead and building it to 19-6 and then 23-8, the Cardinals were in a no-nonsense mood in their 68-47 disposal of Paris Junior College in front of a packed Cardinal Gym Wednesday night.

Aside from an frigid offensive spell in the final 8:11 of the first half, first-year Cardinal coach Greg Heair would likely have little to be displeased with in watching the Cardinals go to 22-2 on the year and 14-2 in Region XIV Conference. The Cardinals, ranked No. 2 at the time, fell 57-52 to No. 19 Angelina on the road in their previous outing.

The Cardinals led 27-19 at the half, representing the eighth time they have held an opponent to 19 or less points in a half this season.

For the sixth game this season, Zati Loubaki led the Cardinals in scoring with 18, including two three-points and a gym-jarring dunk.

Cameron Williams also had a double-digit outing with 13.

Tyler Smith, Garrett Nuckolls and Charles Outlaw had eight points each.

The Cardinals are scheduled to travel to Bossier Parish for a 2 p.m. start Saturday and be at home next Wednesday to take on Coastal Bend at 7 p.m.
