The Cardinals moved into sole possession of second place in the East Zone of Region XIV Conference Wednesday night with a 72-66 win on the road against Paris Junior College.
The win improved the Cardinals to 10-18 on the season. They are 10-8 in conference with one game to go.
With a win at home next Wednesday against Navarro, the Cardinals would claim a first-round bye in the Region XIV Tournament March 7-11 in Tyler at Tyler Junior College.
Micah Clark paced the Cardinals with 19 points.
Also scoring in double figures were Najee Jones with 13, Mahki Dorsey 11 and Zaakir Dorsey 10. Jones was 11-of-12 from the free throw line.
Paris, a 74-62 winner in the first meeting with the Cardinals, led 34-30 at the half.
