Sophomore point guard Hyron Edwards tossed in 17 points Monday night to lead the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals to an 88-80 road win against Lee College in Region XIV Conference action.
The win improved first-year head coach Guy Furr's Cardinals to 13-3 on the year and 4-1 in league play.
Lee dropped to 10-6 and 3-2.
The Cardinals have won 37 of their last 38 conference games.
Edwards was one of five Cardinals scoring in double figures.
He was joined by Amaad Wainright and Lorenzo Phillips with 12 each, Brandon Holley with 11 and Josh Stamps with 10.
Andres Ibarguen and Ryan Preston just missed twin figures with nine and eight, respectively.
Lee led in the early stages of the game before the Cardinals came back to pull even at 35-35 at the half.
The Cardinals took control as the second half got under way and never trailed.
Lee held a 56-39 rebounding edge in the game, but the Rebels faltered at the free throw line, hitting just 25-of-42.
The Cardinals were 12-of-23 from the line.
The Cardinals are scheduled to be at home Wednesday against Blinn in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff, which follows the 5:30 p.m. Lady Cards' game against Panola. Saturday, the Cardinals make the trip to Pasadena to face San Jacinto.
