Trinity Valley Community College head football coach Sherard Poteete has announced two additions to his staff.

Joining the Cardinal football coaching staff will be Nate Harezma and Donniel Ward-Magee. Haremza will coach the offensive line and Ward-Magee will coach defensive backs.

"Nate and Donniel will be great additions to our staff," said Poteete, who will begin his eighth season as head coach this fall. "Both will bring new ideas and relate well with our student-athletes."

NATE HAREMZA

Haremza is no stranger to the Cardinal football program. He was the offensive line coach on Brad Smiley's final staff in the 2017 season, which saw the Cardinals go 9-3, win the SWJCFC regular season title, take a win in C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl and finish sixth in the NJCAA rankings.

He has also made coaching stops at Southern Illinois University, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Garden City Community College, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Butler Community College, Upper Iowa University and Missouri Southern State University.

Haremza was the offensive line coach at Butler in 2019, the season the Grizzlies took a 33-23 decision against the Cardinals in the Midwest Classic Bowl in Miami, Oklahoma.

Among the notable accomplishments of his coaching career are 43 NCAA D1 signees, 39 all-conference selections, four bowl championships and a .593 winning percentage.

Haremza attended and played at Butler and Southern Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration in 2013.

DONNIEL WARD-MAGEE

Ward-Magee joins the Cardinal staff after having spent the 2024 season coaching defensive backs at Texas College.

The Steers went 8-3, having previously been 1-9 in each season since 2003. Two of his defensive backs were named all-conference.

Prior to his first coaching job at Texas College, he was employed at his high school alma mater in San Augustine, serving as assistant to the athletic director for three years and communication publisher for a year prior to that.

He played collegiately at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. At SLU, he was a four-time All-Southland Conference selection at defensive back, leading team in interceptions in 2022 and a conference championship.

In his school playing career at San Augustine, was named all-state in 2017 and was three times named all-district.
