The legacy of Cardinal Cheer continues to grow.
For a fifth straight year, and 16th time overall, Cardinal Cheer struck gold in Florida over the weekend in National Cheerleaders Association competition.
The group won the Advanced Small Coed Division title, scoring a 94.8292. Dodge City Community College was a distance second with an 88.5583. Mount San Antonio College took third with a 72.8083 in the four-team competition.
"Our kids really performed well and put on a show," Athletic Director Eddie Kite said. "Congratulations to co-head coaches Vontae Johnson and Khris Franklin, their staff and the kids for a job extremely well done."
In the Advanced Large Coed Division, Cardinal Cheer finished second with a score of 93.0542 in the finals.
Cardinal Cheer has now won national titles in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1996, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 25.
Counting a championship finish in the first-ever NJCAA competition earlier this year, the cheer program now has 17 national titles.
