Cardinal Cheer will forever be the first coed NJCAA champion after charting an unbeaten path in the 2025 NJCAA Cheerleading Invitational this past weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Cardinals defeated Dodge City in the championship match, 334-319. It was their second win over the Kansas-based school, having scored a 334-312 win over the Conquistadors in the opening round.

The Cardinals also had wins against Salt Lake, 338-304, and Navarro, 332-312.

"We are very proud of our student-athletes," said TVCC athletic director Eddie Kite. "They rose to the occasion like the program always has and represented The Valley with great skill, talent and sportsmanship.

"It's great to see cheer now included among the NJCAA competitions."

Representing TVCC in the competition were Aaron Aery, Alexa Moore,Angelina Chable, Athena Yabe-Cordova, Destiny Delk, Hannah Valyan, Isabella Juarez, Jacqueline Carvalho, Jada Cherry, Janiya Jefferson, Javaughn Miller, Jaylen Downard, Jaylin Rover, Jesus Maya, Kaley Unberhagen, Kylan Bazemore, Liliana Ortiz, Madyson Knight, Nathan Alamo, Nova Larrson, Payton Passmore, Rachel Maldonado, Raymond Calo, Rikki Morris and Tara Jaramillo.
