STILL PERFECT: No. 2 Lady Cards improve to 14-0

The second-ranked Lady Cards remained unbeaten Wednesday night with a solid 69-62 road win against the Panola College Fillies.

Coach Gerald Ewing's squad raised its season record to 14-0. The Lady Cards are 4-0 in Region XIV Conference. Panola dropped to 7-7 and 3-1.

The Lady Cards, up 32-30 at the half, were led by Jasmine Smith's 24 points. Smith fired in five three-pointers.

Also scoring in double figures were Curtessia Dean with 15 and Jnaya Walker 11.

The Lady Cards led 49-46 after three quarters.

In Wednesday's other conference games, it was: Angelina 86, Tyler 71; Blinn 87, Coastal Bend 84 (OT) and Kilgore 81, Paris 44.

The Lady Cards are scheduled to be at home Saturday against Kilgore in a 2 p.m. tipoff. Kilgore is 10-5 and 2-2.

The Lady Cardinals are also scheduled to be at home next Wednesday against Paris in a 5:30 p.m. start.
