Tyson Jolly poured in 32 points and grabbed 16 rebounds Wednesday night to lead the 16th-ranked Cardinals to a 77-74 Region XIV Conference win against the Blinn College Buccaneers.
The Cardinals used their most complete first half of the season to build a 44-24 lead and then held off the fast-closing Buccaneers in the final 20 minutes.
The win improved Coach Guy Furr's squad to 15-2 on the season and 4-1 in conference. Blinn fell to 11-5 and 1-5.
Blinn simply had no answer for Jolly. He hit 10-of-14 shots, including a pair of three-pointers. All but three of his rebounds were on the defensive end.
The Cardinals were 14-of-18 from the free throw line.
In Wednesday's other conference action, it was: Lamar State-PA 71, Paris 60; Panola 83, Angelina 81; Bossier Parish 75, Coastal Bend 65 and Lee 69, Kilgore 65.
The Cardinals are scheduled to be at home Saturday against Angelina. Action begins at 4 p.m. after a 2 p.m. women's game.
