Thompson is in his second season as a coaching assistant in 2025. He will coach the defensive line.
A graduate of Copperas Cove High School, he played for the Cardinals in 2015. He was named defensive MVP and earned all-conference and all-region honors. Thompson Totaled 45 tackles and 5.0 sacks in his one season at The Valley.
He went on to play at Tarleton State, where he was named a D2 All-American as a senior.
