Cardinal Football Youth Skills Camp

Please have your child bring their own water bottle with their name on it, and speak to your child about CDC safety regulations, including social distancing.

Cardinal Field House and Practice Field.
Who Can Attend
Any child entering the first grade through the eighth grade is able to attend. The camp will have focused instruction for position specific groups on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Instruction will be geared toward teaching the proper fundamentals and techniques of football.
What to Bring
Campers should be dressed comfortably in athletic shorts, shirt, and cleats or tennis shoes for each day of the camp. This is a NON-CONTACT camp, so any other football equipment is not necessary. Please note that quarterbacks may want to bring their own ball if preferred.
Coaching & Supervision
All participants will have specialized position coaching by the Trinity Valley Football Coaching Staff, and there will be constant activity and drills ensuring the participants are never left unsupervised.
Medical Advisory
It will be hot. Please ensure your camper is prepared for the heat and exercise in the mid-day heat. Also, please encourage them to drink lots of fluids. Ice water will be provided
to campers during outside activities, and a camp store will be open during breaks with drinks and snacks available for purchase.
Coaching Staff
Sherard Poteete – Sherard Poteete is entering his fifith season as head coach after serving previously as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterack Coach. Poteete, in his second tenure, is completing his sixth season with the Cardinals. He served as offensive coordinator for three seasons in 2010-12 before returning in 2016. In his seven seasons, the Cardinals are 41-23 with four playoff and three bowl appearances. In his first season as head coach, the Cardinals extended a streak of consecutive weeks in the NJCAA poll to 64 weeks and also recorded a 42-21 win against No. 6 and unbeaten Blinn. In his years as offensive coordinator, Poteete’s offense produced 10 All-SWJCFC selections in 2017. In 2016, Poteete’s up-tempo Cardinal offensive attack was literally the “fastest” offense in all of junior college football. The Cardinals set a NJCAA Offensive Record for most plays in a season.
Blake Bryan – Blake is going into his first year as the Defensive Coordinator and the Linebacker Coach for the Cardinals, but has spent a total of 12 years as a junior college coach and eight years as a Special Teams Coordinator. He has won six straight Conference Championships at two different schools. Coach Bryan has coached an incredible 85 Division-1 signees, three Conference Defensive MVPs, and one National Defensive Player of the Year.
The defensive staff also includes Defensive line Coach Tyrell Thompson, a former TVCC player that went on to play D1 ball and played professionally for 3 seasons in the IFL. And Defensive Back Coach Donniel Ward, played D1 ball.
Leo Hunt- – Leo is entering year four of coaching at Trinity Valley. This year will be his first year as the Special Teams Coordinator for the Cardinals. Previously, he has been the Running Backs Coach, and the Tight-Ends Coach. Coach Hunt has coached 8 All-Conference players and has had an impressive 14 Division-1 signees.
Nate Haremza – Nate is entering his 2nd season as the Run Game Coordinator and the Offensive Line Coach for TVCC. His impressive coaching stats include 39 All-Conference players, three All Americans, 18 Division-1 signees, and one NFL Draft Selection.
