ACES, ANYONE?: Hole-in-one contest added to foundation golf tournament

With one swing of the golf club, participants in the annual TVCC Foundation Golf Tournament will have an opportunity to win $50,000.

A $50,000 hole-in-one contest has been added to the event, Trinity Valley Community College Vice President of Institutional Advancement and tournament director Dr. Kristen Bennett announced today. The first golfer to ace the Par 3, 160-yard 10th hole will claim the prize.

The event is scheduled Monday, May 13, at Pinnacle Golf and Boat Club.

"We are very excited to add to the contest to the tournament, which has long been a mainstay on the calendar for area golfers," Bennett said. "We believe this will enhance the tournament."

Cost of the four-person scramble is $300 per team, which includes a fajita lunch. Teams can register for either the morning flight at 8 a.m. or the afternoon flight at 1 p.m., with trophies awarded for each flight.

Registration deadline is Monday, May 6, and entry applications are available at the Office of Institutional Advancement in the Orval Pirtle Administration Building on the Athens campus, 903-670-2620 or via email,

"Proceeds from the tournament raises funds for necessary scholarships for students desiring an education," Bennett said. "Participation is not only appreciated, but is instrumental to the success of our students."
