Busy day ahead!
Both the Lady Cards and Cardinals will be in action as Day 2 of national tournament action in Lubbock and Hutchinson, Ks. unfolds.
For the Lady Cards, seeded No. 14 with a 26-4 record, it will be their tournament debut when they face off against No. 19 South Georgia Tech (30-3) in the first game of the day at 10 a.m.
The No. 15 Cardinals have a game under their belt, having knocked off No. 18 Shelton State in 82-70 fashion Monday afternoon to improve to 28-7 on the year. The set up a Texas showdown tonight at 6:30 against defending national champion and No. 2 South Plains (26-5).
Against South Georgia Tech, the Lady Cards will be facing a red-hot team. The Lady Jets have won 12 straight games and have topped 100 points five times during the streak and seven times during the season.
The game will be the Lady Cards' 91st national tournament contest in 24 tournament appearances. They are 70-20 in tournament games.
The TVCC-South Georgia Tech winner advances to meet No. 3 Shelton State (29-3) at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Lady Cards defeated Shelton State in the semifinals at each of the three previous national tournaments.
Meanwhile later in the day at Hutch, the Cardinals will put a seven-game winning streak on the line against South Plains, which received a first-round bye. South Plains has won three in a row, including a 73-71 win over Odessa, coached by former Cardinal coach Kris Baumann, in the Region V title game.
The TVCC-South Plains winner advances to the quarterfinals Thursday at 2 p.m.

On this final day of winter, it's 46 and clear in Lubbock this morning. It's supposed to be a partly sunny day with a high of 65. It's 41 and clear in Hutch on the way to a high of 57 with an occasional shower in the afternoon.
