MEN'S BASKETBALL

It's back to action tonight for the 10th-ranked Cardinals. In their first outing since Dec. 5, they take to the road to face Lamar State-PA in a 6 p.m. Region XIV Conference contest.

The Cardinals are 13-1 on the year and 2-0 in conference. Lamar State-PA is 9-5 and 1-2.

The Cardinals are 33-4 in their last 37 games against South Zone teams.

Lamar State-PA games are webcast by Cooper Sports Network at www.coopersports.net.

The Cardinals are scheduled to be at home Monday against Lee. Game time at Cardinal Gym is 7 p.m.

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The second-ranked Lady Cards ran their record to 13-0 Thursday night with a 62-47 win against Ranger in the McLennan Classic in Waco.

The Lady Cards are scheduled to resume Region XIV Conference play with a 3-0 record Wednesday in Carthage against Panola. Game time is 7 p.m.

Against Ranger, the Lady Cards led 12-11 after one quarter, 35-27 at the half and 52-41 after three quarters.

Ranger fell to 10-2 with the loss.

The Lady Cards' next home game is Saturday, Jan. 12, against Kilgore. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
